Shawnee Library will open at noon on Monday, April 7.
Join COLLIDER Artist-in-Residence Norma Drish for this workshop. Participants will be introduced to different types of flower presses, including traditional, microwave, and upcycled options, and learn how each method preserves flowers in unique ways. They will also learn various ways document their flowers with sticky notes, mini notebooks or mini sketchbook journals to then create and decorate their own 5x7 travel-sized press with upcycled materials including fabrics, ribbons, beads, etc. By the end of the workshop, participants will leave with a personalized press and the knowledge to start their own flower-pressing journey. Ages: 16-99. Space is limited, email Liz.Magee@LFPL.org to sign up.
